Recently I've reached my biggest milestone yet...1000 followers on Twitter! Plus I've now got over 200 of you following Simply Chloe Blog! It's funny how it's the little things that make you happy, well not so little seeing as there's hundreds of you now! Despite only starting blogging at the end of October 2018, I feel like I've accomplished a fair amount up to now. So seeing as though there are so many of you now, I thought why not do a little Q&A as a way of re-introducing myself to any new readers and allow my long time readers the chance to get to know me better.
To me self love is essentially caring about your own well being and feeling happy about yourself in general. As Valentine's Day is this hugely marketed time where love for other people is a key focus, I thought why not take the opportunity to spend the day celebrating ourselves rather than other people. With everyday life for a lot of us being about caring for others such as; children, families, friends and partners etc. Taking one day out of the year to be selfish and show yourself some self love really isn't a bad thing. In my opinion, it's the furthest thing from bad.
Like everyone else, for me January is a time where you have no money because Christmas has cleaned you out and payday seems so far away. So it's unusual for me to buy anything for myself within this time. I mean, after Christmas presents, there shouldn't be anything else I want right? But this year I surprised everyone by treating myself to a few things, so here are my January buys.
So, tomorrow is the day I go back to my favourite city in the world, Rome. I had such an amazing time when I last went two years ago that I couldn't resist going again. From the ancient ruins scattered about the city to the stunning artwork and architecture, Rome is full of breathtaking culture and beauty.
It can be hard knowing what to prepare for a meal when you’re on a healthy eating kick. You can get lost in the calories, fats and food group combinations- I know I do. Thing is, not everyone enjoys the same food and it can be hard to come up with meals that are both healthy and enjoyable. You shouldn't have to compromise food you like in favour of what is deemed to be 'better' for you.
I love a good cup of tea, as stereotypically British as that is, it's my drink of choice. I have one in the morning before I start my day, occasionally at work when I can and at night after I get home. So when I received some sample pyramid tea bags from Shibui Tea to taste and review, I cannot tell you how happy I was to try some new flavours. And widen my horizons, if you will.
Everyone tends to feel that January pressure to get back to whatever shape they were in before Christmas came around to tempt us all with endless amounts of chocolates, Christmas dinner, party food and alcohol. I’m no different.
