Disclosure: I wrote this post last year and have only just found it in my documents, I contemplated rewriting it but I loved the memories it brought back and Amsterdam was such a good trip I didn't want to take anything away from it! So here you go, a throwback to 2019...
Now I know I'm not likely to get through all these in the same year, but I think it's nice to have some goals or a little wish list to start the year off right. It helps to make it really feel like a fresh slate- at least for me it does.
Rome is a city of history, culture, architecture and amazing food. In other words, it's my kind of city. Travelling to new places is always exciting, especially those with so much to offer that everyday is guaranteed to be different. But it can be hard to know what to do in a new place, let alone a different country. After my recent trip to Rome I thought about all I had learned and so I decided it was only fair to share my knowledge with you all, so that anyone who does visit Rome in the future can feel comfortable knowing they have an understanding of the city and what to expect before they jet off.
Like everyone else, for me January is a time where you have no money because Christmas has cleaned you out and payday seems so far away. So it's unusual for me to buy anything for myself within this time. I mean, after Christmas presents, there shouldn't be anything else I want right? But this year I surprised everyone by treating myself to a few things, so here are my January buys.
So, tomorrow is the day I go back to my favourite city in the world, Rome. I had such an amazing time when I last went two years ago that I couldn't resist going again. From the ancient ruins scattered about the city to the stunning artwork and architecture, Rome is full of breathtaking culture and beauty.
Nights out tend to be the same with no one night standing out from the rest. So after being included in an eventful night out that I enjoyed immensely, I thought it was worth sharing. Recently my sister turned 18 and as it’s a big birthday, we decided to do something slightly different. I’d heard about cocktail making classes before where hen do’s, birthday parties and girls nights out spend their time learning how to make their favourite cocktail as an alternative form of pre-drinking in preparation for a night out. But never before had I experienced one of these classes myself, so I went into the event with little expectations.
As everyone knows, winter is such an idyllic time with Christmas vibes running wild and cosy nights in quickly becoming a favourite pastime. This is also the time of year where holiday destinations change from sun seeking to hunting for the perfect winter wonderland. I personally have always wanted to somewhere during winter that is so in tune with Christmas and all of winters wonders, but as life happens to do, time has gotten away from me time and time again. Despite this, I have an internal list of places I would go to that look unreal and beyond Instagram worthy, so I thought why not share these magical places with a few friends.
